Coinciding with the online exhibition Time Lines: Raluca Popa, the video below offers a behind-the-scenes look at a recent series of drawings by the artist: Disegno Ricercato VI. 

Raluca Popa reveals how she started to cut and weave her pencil drawings of Brancusi’s oeuvre and atelier, why she made patterns for weaving based on a musical score (Ligeti, Musica Ricercata, Movement VI), and what makes learning an important part of her process.

Time Lines: Raluca Popa is the second in a series of three online exhibitions (curator: Mihaela Chiriac) that started with Ignacio Uriarte and will continue with Răzvan Anton. Each exhibition is accompanied by a video that provides a complementary window into the artists’ drawing practices through intimate interviews.
