Tania Mouraud’s Écritures in Rouen

15 February 2019

Tania Mouraud’s practice related to writing and the plasticity of language, from her anthological works in the 1970s and 1980s to her more recent research with Mots-Mêlés (2017-2018), is on view at Hangar 107 – Centre d’Art Contemporain de Rouen till March 9.

The solo exhibition Écritures also includes a large wall painting, Mallarmé, commissioned for this show. For the past 30 years, Tania Mouraud has consistently explored writing on an architectural scale, with wall paintings in which the letters and spaces are stretched to the limit of legibility.
