On the occasion of the large-scale group exhibition Gigantisme: Art & Industrie (4 May 2019 – 5 January 2020), which unfolds in several sites of Dunkirk Contemporary Art Hub, Tania Mouraud has been commissioned by Rubis Mécénat cultural fund, in association with the Frac Grand Large – Hauts-de-France, to produce three monumental works for the Rubis Terminal site in the port and a city-centre wall. 

The artist has created a poetic “memorial” inspired by the history of Dunkirk. For the port, she has chosen an excerpt from Shakespeare, in English and in French, its black lettering and white spacing stretched to the limits of legibility.
