miart 2020 | digital edition

In our Viewing Room at miart digital, we premiered a selection of cut-and-woven drawings that Raluca Popa has made in 2020. The artist cut and wove together her own pencil studies of Brancusi’s work and atelier, using as patterns for weaving a series of visual structures that she developed in order to translate a musical score (Ligeti, Musica Ricercata, Movement VI).

These new pieces were shown alongside sculptural objects and photographs resulted from Ištvan Išt Huzjan’s recent performances.
