New publication: Karton Tandem – Mihai Plătică x George Cornilă
Mihai Plătică’s first publication, bringing together a selection of his recent works and a literary piece by the writer George Cornilă, is out now.
The magazine is part of the latest editorial project by P+4 Publications, Karton Tandem, dedicated to accidental encounters, free associations, and experimentation in contemporary photography and literary writing. Instead of a traditional critical text, the publication pairs photographic works with a piece of fiction inspired by the images.

In his work, Mihai Plătică explores the relationship between object, image and context, while taking an interest in the way the universal laws of physics govern our world. His exhibitions are a gateway to immersive experiences in which photography becomes an instrument designed for close observation and which enables a reinterpretation of what may be called reality.
“My process usually starts with an idea or concept that I want to explore. I then spend time researching and experimenting with various photography techniques or technologies to find the most appropriate way to express that idea. I use a wide range of cameras, from 90s digital cameras with 0.3 MP resolutions to medium format cameras using film or slides. I am interested in the ways photography interacts with information, exploring how images can influence perceptions.” (Mihai Plătică in an interview for Dilema, 2024)
