Marathon performance by Vlatka Horvat at KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen
A 3-day performance, This Here and That There – Herrenhausen Quartet by Vlatka Horvat was one of the highlights of KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen (18 May – 3 June 2018, Hannover), the annual festival of music-theatre, performances, dance, concerts and installations.
At the swan lakes of the Herrenhäuser Gärten, four performers (Karen Christopher, Noémie Solomon, Season Butler and Vlatka Horvat) arranged and re-arranged a set of 200 chairs. Working in 8-hour-long stretches every day, they constructed numerous temporary structures and arrangements that speak of the ways in which the built environment makes (im)possible certain kinds of encounters and in which the organisation of space invites certain scenarios or narratives.
