viennacontemporary 2017

The presentation at viennacontemporary 2017 revolved around Pavel Brăila’s work The Golden Snow of the Sochi Olympics, which is also shown at documenta 14 in Athens. Through object and a series of photos and drawings, the artist re-examines both a symbol of the Olympic Games and the way Coubertin’s idea of representation of intangible moral beauty (sport) was transferred into ideas that reflect global power, militarized class war and corporate capital.
