Artissima 2019
Răzvan Anton’s and Damir Očko’s practices are connected by the artists’ joint interest in the political role of the body. Both re-question the role of the body politics and the way this discourse is implemented in contemporary society.
The presentation at Artissima included a constellation of works by Damir Očko that, from the perspective of individuals, speak about the collapse of the body, its fragility, but also its resilience as political entity. On the other hand, the selected works by Răzvan Anton tackle the issue of body as political entity from the perspective of collectivity, which is conceptually based on archival resources and found imagery.
